looking for a lovely home

"Hello! On one of my geological expeditions I found 1,000 pebbles locked in cages, separated from their parent Pebbles two years ago. I can't take them all home myself. Adopt a Pet Pebble, and please take care of them. They need homes of their own."

How it works

1

One pet per Pebble

Pet Pebble #n inherits the 32-byte hash of Pebbles #n, read on-chain from 6529's NextGen contract in your claim transaction. Same seed, new companion. No oracle, no server, no reveal.

2

The script lives on Ethereum

The whole generator, vanilla canvas 2D with no library, is stored on the contract as string chunks. Anyone can read it back and run it, forever.

3

Your pebble renders live

Hash in, pebble out: background gradient, woven fabric, one rock. Deterministic at any resolution: the same pebble at 1K or 16K, pixel for pixel.

Adoption phases

1:1

One pet per Pebble

Pet Pebble #n belongs with Pebbles #n: same hash, same provenance, 1,000 of each.

P0

Holder claim

Hold the Pebble, adopt its pet. Perfectly allocated by definition, with no gas race.

P1

Public backstop

Pets still waiting for a home open to everyone. Up to 10 per transaction.

0x

No allowlist needed

Ownership is the allowlist: the claim checks NextGen's ownerOf live. No Merkle tree, no snapshot.

FAQ

What exactly is on-chain?

Everything that defines the art: the token hash (written in your mint transaction), your tokenData provenance string, and the full generator script stored as string chunks on the Core contract. retrieveGenerativeScript(tokenId) returns a runnable script for any token, and tokenURI itself serves fully on-chain metadata: name, a live rendering built by the contract, and traits computed by the contract too, reproducing the generator's draw bit for bit. No server anywhere. Marketplace PNGs are just cached renders of it.

Where does my pet's hash come from?

From its parent. The claim transaction reads Pebbles #n's hash with retrieveTokenHash, and its provenance tokenData, directly from 6529's NextGen contract, and writes them into Pet Pebble #n. Same seed, rendered by a new script. No off-chain step anywhere.

What does adoption cost, and who can adopt?

0.01 ETH flat. During the claim phase, the current holder of Pebbles #n, and only them, can adopt Pet Pebble #n, for every Pebble they hold, batched in one transaction. Pets still unclaimed when the public phase opens are open to any loving home. Pick the ones you want, up to 10 per transaction. Fair warning: once the claim window closes, holding the Pebble gives no further priority, and a pet adopted by someone else is theirs for good.

Can I choose my pet's colour?

Yes. The palette itself is inherited from your Pebble, but you pick which of its colours the rock wears: the base colour, any accent, or "auto" to let the hash decide. Your pick is stored on-chain (rockColour) at claim, and you can change it any time later with customize: the token's current holder repaints, and the metadata updates itself. The script validates every pick against your palette, falling back to the hash if it's out of range. Repainting runs behind a collection-wide switch the team can pause; choices already made always keep rendering. Preview every option on the All pets page.

My Pebbles live in a vault. Can I claim from my minting wallet?

Yes. The claim reads NFTDelegation.com, the same registry 6529's NextGen uses. If your vault already delegated to your minting wallet (any-collection or the Pebbles collection, use case "All" or "Minting"), just connect the minting wallet: your vault's pets appear, and they mint directly to the vault, never to the connected wallet. No delegation set up? Either connect the vault itself, or register one at NFTDelegation.com first. Existing delegations from Memes and NextGen mints work as-is.

What traits does my pet have?

Palette, Size and Traced are inherited: same PRNG, same draw order, so they match the parent Pebble exactly, all 1,000 of them. Check any pair yourself on the trait check page. Rock Colour shows the actual hex your pet wears right now, and updates when you repaint. Provenance carries the parent's mint type. Colour density still exists under the hood (it sets the odds an "auto" pet goes accent-coloured) but isn't shown as a trait, since a repaint would make the label lie.

What's the license?

CC0: the art and code belong to everyone.

Where does Pet Pebble come from?

It's modeled on Pebbles by Zeblocks, the first collection on 6529's NextGen contract, whose script, palettes and mechanics are CC0. Same PRNG, same draw order; a Pebbles token hash reproduces the same trait values here. Credit and love to Zeblocks and 6529.
